I have been asked about why my blog only has positive experiences on it. Do I write truthfully? How do my readers know if I am writing from a personal experience with truth? Do I get paid for positive posts only?
While I do write occasionally for "sponsored" posts, I have not and will not ever write a post dishonestly.
When I started writing my blog almost 2 years ago, I decided that I wanted a positive place where parents can check for the best places to go and have a great time with their families. If someone asks me to review a product or event and we don't have the experience promised, I would rather not waste my time, energy and negativity on it.
I don't allow companies to bully me into always writing a positive review regardless if I have tried their product, attended their events or experience their business.
I let each and every person I work with know that if I like/love a product, business or event, I will showcase them and shout it to the world of Social Media. I do however reserve the right to write a review of the said products and/or event in the event of lack of expectation. I have experienced the good, the bad and the ugly of marketing and business and I have chosen to be as honest as I can.
That being said, if any of my readers know of a place that they would like to know about, please feel free to email me at Kirstin@socalkidsoutdooradventures.com and ask what my experience has been. I will always be honest when asked. If I haven't had the chance to check out a place or review something, maybe I can direct you to a fellow blogger that HAS reviewed it.
I work with a network of wonderful bloggers who all contribute to different aspects of Southern California living. Please feel free to ask for recommendations and I am always up for suggestions for new, family friendly adventures.
I am excited to try new and exciting things with my family this summer and I can't wait to share them with everyone! Please keep checking in with us as we muddle through this adventure that we call raising kids!

Trail Mixed Memories is a blog about blazing trails from the desert to the sea and everywhere in between with my family. I'm a blogger and a outdoor mom of two kids. I share our activities, reviews, events, and adventures to other families to help get kids off the couch and outdoors. Our family enjoys fishing, hiking, camping, prospecting, geocaching, archery, SCUBA, dirtbike riding and river rafting. I also am an avid outdoor photographer that loves catching that unusual shot!
