The Splendiferously Superific Summer Spectacular Ice-Cream Eating Challenge!
Last week I was invited to watch last years ice-cream eating contests winners submit their times and defend their trophies! We were joined by Allie Kay with KTLA live on air to showcase the contest.
This is Farrell's 5th year with Make A Wish Foundation and CHOC! The proceeds from the entry fees go to help children in need.
CHOCO the bear was there to cheer the contestants on!
Team "Make A Wish" were all smiles qualifying for the 4 person category!
This cutie was last years Big and Small Category Champ and is now competing in the Kids Category as he has passed the Big and Small Category to his little sister!
Last years winner of the Professional Category is actually a High School teacher coming back to teach his kids how to persevere!
What do the contestants need to do? Can anyone enter? Is it appropriate for kids and families?
There are a variety of categories that fits your needs.
Amateur Categories: $20 entry fee
- Individual Men's- 16 and up
- Must eat a 3 scoop sundae fastest to qualify
- Individual Women's- 16 and up
- Must eat a 3 scoop sundae fastest to qualify
- Individual Kids- 9-15
- Must eat a 3 scoop sundae fastest to qualify
- Big and Small- team of 2- (1) 8 and under and (1) 16+
- Must eat a 3 scoop sundae fastest to qualify
- Four Person Team- all contestants need to be present
- Must eat a 6 scoop sundae fastest to qualify
- Must eat a Zoo for the Championship!
Professional Category: (don't let the name fool you, anyone can enter for a cash prize!) $40 entry fee
- Must eat a 6 scoop pigs trough to qualify
- Must eat a Zoo for the Championship!
What do they win? Check out the prizes for the Amateur Category! That is a card that entitles you to free ice-cream for a year and a great t-shirt!
The Professionals get a $300 cash prize for the winner and a great trophy! Of course, they need to get through The Zoo first!
