Since my son joined Cub Scouts, we have been doing even MORE outdoor activities. I am rediscovering parks and beaches that I see differently now that I have kids.
The park and beach I am featuring this week is called Royal Palms.
Royal Palms sits on the cliff-side of San Pedro. While the playground itself is small, for a small parking fee, you can drive right down to the beach. While there is not a lot, if any, sand, there is plenty else to do at this hidden tide-pool paradise.
Before I had children, I worked for the Marine Mammal Center which releases the rehabilitated sea lions and seals here. You can find out more about the Marine Mammal Center by checking out their website, here.
What do we do now that we have children? My husband spear fishes, we SCUBA dive, surf and most important to my children, shore fish and go tide-pooling! There are often family photo-shoots done here as it hold much natural beauty.
Our last trip here a couple weeks ago, including a day of fishing, dissecting(of bait) and looking at tide-pools.
