Monster Sized Surprise for YMCA Kids Today: Monster Trucks | @MonsterJam #MonsterJam

The Anaheim YMCA kids at Salk Elementary school were amazed today at the larger than life surprise.  The Anaheim Police department  and the new law-enforcement inspired monster truck, the "POLICE NEW EARTH AUTHORITY" came to educate the kids on the importance of keeping a safe community.  Starting at home.  We were so excited to be invited to this incredible meeting as my children and I had never seen monster trucks before!

The kids were treated to the "POLICE NEA" driver, Oregon Police Lieutenant: Norm Miller, talking about his experiences as a child wanting to drive the massive trucks that inspired him to become not only a Monster Truck driver but also a police man!  Did you know that just last week he rolled the very truck that was shared with us today?!

It was a good thing that the driver had his helmet on and was buckled safely into his rollcage!  It took his amazing crew only a week to repair the truck for the kids and also important, the Monster Jam that starts tomorrow, January 11, 2014 at Anaheim Stadium.

After the amazing stories, the kids learned the importance of police and keeping them and their communities safe.  They were encouraged to ask questions about law enforcement and provide tips on how to help their own communities, including the Anaheim Junior Cadet program.

The kids then got an up close and personal look at the "POLICE NEA" truck and even got autographs!

Did you know that door to the "POLICE NEA" Monster Truck is underneath?  The driver has to crawl up a ladder to get to the drivers seat of this amazing vehicle.

SoCal motor sports fans will experience a massive collection of the world's best monster trucks battling it out in the ultimate event of high speed, racing and destruction.  Monster Jam returns to Angel Stadium for only 3 weekends.  January 11th, January 25th and February 8th, 2014.

Some of the incredible trucks that you can see there are:

  • Clash of the Jam Titans when "GRAVE DIGGER" and "MAX-D" go head to head at the February 8th event for the first time
  • New trucks, "CLEATUS" and "POLICE NEA"
  • Fan  favorites: "NORTHERN NIGHTMARE", "SCOOBY DOO", and "ZOMBIE"

It's programs like this that help keep our kids safe and have a great respect of law enforcement when they can see them in a not so formal setting that sometimes scares the young children.  When they get close and talk to them to see that they are just normal people like their parents or teachers, the trust bond starts early.

DISCLAIMER:  We will attend the event as a guest of Monster Jam.  All thoughts and ideas are my own.  Do not use any pictures without permission.
