Light Up Links! Fun GIft for Christmas! | @LightupLinks #WayToGlow #Review

My son making an umbrella out of Light Up Links!
It's that time of year again... What presents to get our children that they will enjoy for more than a week.  With all the latest technology out, it is hard to get my children to use their creative sides.

I was was approached to review a new product out on the market this year that I think might just help.  It is called Light Up Links.  This new toy was just launched for Christmas!  Don't worry, no batteries required!  The motion of the mechanism creates its own electricity when moved around.  Creativity?  Think Tinker Toys with lights!

The toys have flexible straw-like appendages that branch out in any which direction and balls that the straws attach to. I was a little worried about the small parts because as we all know, small parts get lost very easily in houses with small children.  I first introduced my children to the new toys while they were on a road trip.  I placed the box of small parts between their two car seats and they shared at will.

My kids were curious.  At first they made many pointed stars and branched out into wands, umbrellas and flying saucers.  My son also made a race car.  The unique part of this toy is the fact that the lights stay on for about 10 seconds and shut off automatically.  This allows for the lights to hold interest but requires the kids to give some thought of what process make them turn on and how to incorporate into their creations.  There is also an instruction booklet that they can use to make fun new shapes.

My children are 4 and 6 and they adored it!  The only problem I had was that they both wanted more of the parts so they could build bigger items.  I also tested it out with my 12 year old nephew who was visiting us.  He had a great time playing with the little kids and even made his own stars.  I think he while he may have been too old to play with the toys, he still had a good time.

I would recommend these toys for children 10 and under.  While I think older kids might enjoy them, I think that they may not play with them to their fullest extent for as long as the younger kids.

I look forward to getting more links for my kids for Christmas.  They were a big hit in the car and waiting for each other at the ice rink.  The fact that I don't have to buy batteries for this great imagination builder is my favorite part of this toy.

This toy will give your child a toy that will keep their imagination running wild for a great price!  A box of 300 pieces is only $19.99!  That is cheaper than Legos!  Since TV offers always make their money on their shipping and handling, I have a special code for you to use for FREE S/H!  Click on this link and enter the code of LUL.

I hope that your children will enjoy them as much as mine does!  These are not sold in stores but they still guarantee shipment before Christmas.
