This week, we pulled our archery equipment out of the garage and headed to the range. While I do not have my own bow, my husband and my children do. I enjoy shooting the kids Scout Compound bows just for fun.
You don't need to know how to hold a bow or shoot a target. There are classes geared towards children and even adults! You also don't have to rush out and buy bows for your family. You can actually rent the bows at most archery ranges.
If you do decide that your children want their own bows, the Scout, such as my own children's sets run about $30. They are small compound bows that have just the right pull for about a 7 or 8 year old. My children need a little help since mine are 4 and 6 but they have so much fun!

| 10714 Reagan Street Suite B Los Alamitos, CA 90720-2431 You can receive lessons from both of these ranges but hours of operation vary. The El Dorado Park Archery range is open to the public. Unless you have pre-arranged lessons, you must provide your own equipment. There is no charge to shoot, just show up, choose a target and never point an arrow towards another person. There is however a parking fee to enter the park which varies from season/day. The Archery Outpost is an indoor facility where they have rental equipment to use and buy they also have instructors at hand when they are open. The days/hours vary so please call before you go. It is a fun family sport and the kids love it when we tie balloons onto the target for them to pop! Take your kids outside and try something new! You might like it! |
