Imagine you hit your Mid-Life crisis running. No wife or children to speak of, wondering when your life will begin.
In your younger years, you donated sperm to earn money in harder times. Do you ever wonder what happened to those sperm? Well one man just found out!
In the film, Vince Vaughn plays an affable underachiever looking for his purpose in life, when he finds out he’s fathered 533 children through anonymous donations to a fertility clinic 20 years ago. Now he must decide whether or not to come forward when 142 of them want to meet their biological father!
Instant family (not usually of 142 children) happens every day. Every time an adult becomes a parent of a step child, a family adopts a child in need, or a child is born, family is established.
My best friend was adopted at birth. She was loved and cared for by her parents(adopted). During her teenage years, natural curiosity of her biological parents drove her to locate them. Her parents(adopted) supported her and will always be her parents but the man and woman who made the choice to bring her into this world will always have a special place in her heart.
This movie is very believable when you hear the stories of young men(and women) donating sperm and eggs. Do they ever think of children that might have been born using their donations? I can guarantee at some point, the answer is yes.
