My children and I were invited to the Los Angeles Zoo to preview "Koala Kid(Outback)" which came out today, April 30. After visiting with Reggie the famous American Alligator and various other animals, we learned many interesting facts about Koalas.
With all the anti-bullying messages out today for our kids, I found this particular movie refreshing, "Koala Kid". This movie teaches children that you need to be yourself. Everyone else is taken, so be yourself. Anyone can be a hero!
Jenni Pulos, the voice of "Charlotte", introduced this fun adventure using the popular 80's tune "Land Down Under". A fun way of getting us parents involved in animation.
"Koala Kid" is a animated movie about a white koala in a world of gray. Never fitting in, "Johnny" sets off to find who hhews. He wanders the outback of Australia in search of himself. Finding a band of misfits, he falls for a girl who he thinks would only like him if he changed into the hero he has always wanted to be.
Through mishaps and trials and errors, Johnny realizes that he doesn't have to go anywhere to be the best he can be. He only needs to look within and give people a chance to get to know the real "Koala Kid", Johnny.
This movie is great for kids! It has action, friendship, love and understanding. It also has music and content that the adults can appreciate! My kids laughed through it and enjoyed it to the end. I'm glad that there are movies that keep the children engaged and send the right message, that anyone can be a hero!
